DAFFODIL BALL 2011 – $725,000 RAISED!

For the 5th year running Era Design is proud to donate another piece of custom designed jewellery to one of Vancouver’s premier fundraising auctions. This one of a kind 18kt white gold pendant features a yellow sapphire and pavé diamonds in the shape of a daffodil. The Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Ball, formerly known as the Diamond Ball, marks it’s fifteenth anniversary with a very special evening featuring Canadian comic Rick Mercer. The black-tie dinner, dance and auction draws over 500 guests and always sells out. This year it was held on Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, where it was a huge success as always:

With some $725,000 raised and sold-out months in advance, it was obvious that the community responded to the opportunity to support outstanding research into childhood cancer survivors. And having Rick Mercer as our featured entertainment – nothing short of terrific!” remarked Barbara Kaminsky, Canadian Cancer Society CEO. Since 1997, the gala has generated $6.9 million for cancer research.

Next years event will be held on April 28th 2012 at the same location. This event has raised over 6 million dollars for Cancer research since the fundraiser started in 1997
