Our custom design consultations are held by phone appointment and include up to 30 minutes of time with our designer to share your ideas, chat through options and get into some of the details of your design before preparing and estimate and sketches for your review.
We've crafted some questions that would be good to ask yourself when preparing for the appointment:
Do you have an idea of the design you are looking for? Inspiration photos?
We suggest browsing our website to get an idea of styles, and the types of designs we create. If you have any inspiration photos, feel free to attach them to your appointment request, or email us prior to your appointment. We can use the photos as inspiration, but do not directly copy from other designers. Do you live locally? Visit our storefront to browse our designs in person!
Do you have a timeframe?
Our estimated production timeline is 8-10 weeks for simple designs and 10-12 weeks for complex designs. If this time frame is a concern we suggest purchasing one of our ready made stock items, presenting the ring, and coming back within the 30 day window to exchange the ring for a custom made design!
Do you know the ring size needed?
Getting your finger sized at a local jeweller is the most accurate way to find out your ring size. If the purchase is a surprise, you could try sizing a ring that the person wears on one of their other fingers as a rough guide to start with. We offer two free resizings, so if the ring needs to be adjusted, it can be sized at a later date.
Do you know the metal you would like to use? Any allergies?
We primarily work with 14kt white, yellow, and rose gold. We find it to be great for resizing - it's also a good, hard karat for everyday wear.
Metals we work with: 14kt, 18kt, and 19kt white, yellow, and rose gold, platinum, and 14kt white gold palladium. We do not work with sterling silver.
Nickel Allergy
Our 14kt white gold contains nickel. If you have a nickel allergy and are looking for a white metal, we would suggest platinum or 14kt palladium white gold as neither contain nickel.
Do you know the type of stone(s) you are interested in?
We can work with you to find the perfect stone! We have a wide variety of stones in our collection, but primarily work with Canadian mined diamonds, lab grown diamonds, and sapphires.
